The Last Month of Pregnancy (hopefully)

So here we are...in the home stretch. The last 4 weeks of pregnancy--unless Nuggette decides to come late though, but everyones money is that she'll come early. It all just seems very surreal. I just vision images of the future being like "this is my daughter" and it just makes me giggle. I still feel like a little kid and wonder how the heck I can be a mom?? I didn't have too many complaints for a while, although probably about a week or a week and a half ago heartburn decided to make its presence known loud and clear. For some reason between 1 am and 3 am without fail I am just up and feeling like death. We all know I need my sleep so you can imagine how this has taken its toll on me. I know what youre thinking, it'll be a swift kick in the behind in 4 weeks. We are almost done with everything that we think we'll need for Nuggette. I pretty much ordered everything from our target registry and now need to focus on the babies r us one. I have a couple different coupons so of course I am crunching numbers to save us the most money :) Hmm...nothing else really to report here...hope everything is good with everyone else :)

34 weeks...

holy canoli....didnt realize i havent posted in a month!! but a busy month it has been! our cousin anne finished painting our nursery...mike assembled the baby furniture...he also installed a closet organizer. so things are coming together! the real mrs woodcock sent us a package of baby clothes from a co worker and cathy k had a fun time shopping at the rugged bear and sent us a bunch of clothes as well, so many thanks to our wonderful families :).
Ok, so I just took a 5 day break so were at actually at about 35 weeks now...
anyways, mike and i joined the 21st century this week and bought iphones. i was hesitant at first for a a couple of reasons. the first being the price. ive had verizon for about 11 years and have always gotten the free phone with the new every 2 contract (and if not free, pretty dang close...) and i just dont feel id get as much out of it, and if i did, id feel like id be losing touch with actual human beings. anyways, what put me over the edge was that our friends aaron and janice downloaded a breastfeeding app so it records all their feedings and diaper changes and even if aaron enters it on his phone, the app is synced on both phones, so it appears on both. i thought that alone would make life just a little bit easier when nuggette comes. i dont feel as guilty spending a small fortune for the new toys because the next night mike sold the hot tub. we have no idea if it works or not, but either way, it was sold and they shall come on sunday to pick it up! which means mike has a new project to work on--a fire pit! now if only hed finish the deck... :)
we did receive a 15% off all breast pumps at babies r us from janice, so even though babies r us pretty much jacks up their prices, their pumps are competitively priced. since we just received a very generous gift card from the krendels because they cashed in all of their credit card points we figured we should go buy a pump ourselves. well, as i was in the checkout and was telling the cashier i was buying it off my own registry, i think she took pity on me cause she gave me 20% off!!! woot! woot! i was pretty content with that. we also got our crib mattress last week--at the DI none the less. Who knew the DI MAKES mattresses and furniture?? we also got a rocker/glider with ottoman on KSL for uber cheap, so that also made me doubly happy. and i think lastly, the only other thing really going on is tomorrow night is our root beer pregger kegger. tahts right. we will have a keg of root beer! so im excited to have root beer floats galore until nuggette is all doped up on sugar!! hopefully good times and good memories will be made. :) thats been our last month or so in a nutshell....just baby, baby, baby!
oh...and how could i forget??? we got baby bump pictures taken!! our friend briar did them when we were in logan last weekend!! she rocks!

Down to the final 10...

So we're down to the final 10 weeks, although there are a lot of people who are convinced Nuggette will grace us with her presence early. As for my back brace I got last weekend, it is my savior. However, my new complaint is being anemic. I was told to take an iron supplement--but taking it makes me nauseous and vomit. So Nuggette will not come out as an Iron Lady but the amount of calcium and vitamin D I intake I will be surprised if she ever breaks a bone. It was a busy week here at the Woodcock Residence because we were taking breastfeeding classes and birthing classes all week. We were able to start to paint the nursery. I am not sure if it is because we got the environmental paint but it is VERY thin. We did 2 coats and need to go back to Sherwinn Williams to get another gallon. Anne Goldberg is currently in NYC so I think next weekend she will come over and use her artisitic ability that Mike and I so desperately lack and finish the nursery for us. We are pretty booked over the next few weekends so I can only imagine the time is going to fly by. We can do all we want to prepare for her arrival, but is anyone ever really ready for a baby??

ps-sorry this is so dull, I just have a lack of things to complain about. Unless, you want me to tell you about my bras not fitting anymore, just give me a call :)

Can I make it 11 more weeks???

It's been very frustrating the last two weeks with my back. I've been going to the chiropractor and it is hard to make a diagnosis with no x rays or anything so they just go by the pain and location I describe. The latest diagnosis is a dislocated sacral joint. It is very bizarre because it is not a constant ache and I can't find a definite pattern. Obviously when I walk a lot and bend over a lot it is a lot more painful...but there are days when the pain is so intense--despite resting. For a few weeks in a row Thursdays were horrendous...I was calling it Thursdayitis. Last Sunday was super bowl Sunday so clearly I rested and ate all day, but Monday was the worst day ever for pain. I couldn't even get out of the car at the end of the day. I think the back situation has been our biggest issue recently. Mike has been super and rolled back the carpet in the 2 upstairs guestrooms and screwed down the floor boards so they don't squeak anymore. We went to Sherwin Williams today and bought the paint for the nursery so I hope to tape the room up today and possibly paint the base color today. I'll post pictures when the nursery is done!

13 weeks to go...

So here were are at 27 weeks! I can finally see Nuggette moving occasionally in my belly. We also went out the other night to buy the furniture for Nuggette's room and I am very glad we did! Bob and Celia were here over MLK day (2 weeks ago?) and ended up at Costco one day when I got a phone call that I should go and look at their crib. I passed it off and ignored it like any daughter in law would do (jk). I figured it was still a better deal to get the nursery from Babies r Us. The following weekend Mike and I went to Costco (last weekend) and saw the crib and really liked it. There were a gazillion in stock considering we had to climb on boxes just to see the price. The crib comes with conversion rails for only $360 (which is HUUUUUUUUUUUUUGE! Comparable cribs at babies r us run from 350-600$ WITHOUT the rails which add about 200-250$ onto the crib price!). There was also a changing table/dresser that matched the crib. After discussing it over the week we decided to get the set on Friday night. Holy canoli! We got the second to last crib and the last dresser! I came home to do research on the set (it is not available at costco.com) and mommy message boards were blowing up about it so I think there was a mad rush to go buy them. It is a new design so there are no reviews on it yet but the company that makes it has very, very good reviews at costco.com. Along the same lines as the nursery our cousin Anne asked if she could paint it. Of course we said yes because if we were to do it, it would have one color or possibly an accent wall--thats how creative we get around here. So after talking to Anne, the plan right now is to have a tan base color and then have different shades of lavender bubbles on it. She's pretty artsy so were giving her free reign pretty much. My back is still a day to day thing. For some reason Thursdays are very hard on my back. Apparently my nerves have Thursdayitis. Last Monday was a wonderful day though--I came home from work to find a package from the Krendels with maternity tops! I won't be naked after all! I think little miss Emily was the fashionista who approved of all purchases. I have received countless compliments on my maternity clothes. Also, Mike's birthday is Tuesday but hes a stinky cause he'll be Seattle on business. Instead of canceling his birthday I decided to give him a new camera early so that when Nuggette comes he can take lots of pictures to brag about the wee one. We tried playing with it earlier today but it is a little high tech for us Woodcockers. Well...thats all that is going on here I think...sore back and lots of peeing! :)

Soon I will be naked...

So the Krendel Family graciously sent us a web cam so we may skype with them so it makes it easy to do the side pictures of Nuggette--so here she is! I was doing really well with clothes for a while. I purchased and received some maternity pants from GAP and thoroughly enjoy them, despite knowing they cost an arm and a leg! It wasn't until Friday when I went to work that I had the sad realization that I need to invest in maternity tops. As a staple in my work wardrobe I very frequently wear a button up shirt under the sweater--it looks nice and my classroom is drafty so it keeps me warm. Unfortunately, my shirt probably could have been used as a weapon because I am sure if I aimed correctly and exhaled just a little bit, I could have shot a student in the eye with a button. We later went out to dinner at Texas Road House where I had to unbutton my shirt (as opposed to the average American who unbuttons their pants after a meal...). So on Saturday when we created our registries we went to Target...there were no button maternity dress shirts and the selection was rather bland although I did just end up buying a plain long sleeve t shirts. We then went to Old Navy where there selection was even smaller with nothing work appropriate. Think sequins and clubbing clothes, but extra room for a belly. When I came home frustrated I went to gap.com where they did have work shirts...over priced. I checked motherhood maternity and wasn't really feeling their clothes as well. Isn't there a store that sells decent maternity clothes at a decent price?? I ended up buying a bunch of shirts from Gap since they were actually having a sale on maternity clothes (shocker!) and I could earn points on my gap card. Moral of the story...I may end up on the 6 o clock news soon since I opted for free! (=super slow) shipping for indecent exposure from being partially naked as I wait the arrival of my new shirts. Thank you for letting me vent. As for a regular update with the wee woodcock shes doing pretty good. Were into our 25th week so we are nearing an end to our second trimester--holy smokes! I think Nuggette put too much pressure on my back and something is misaligned (although, I suppose everything is misaligned since I have a severe case of scoliosis...). Needless to say I look amazing teaching since any wrong movement while sitting or standing leaves me feeling like I was shot in the back while my whole body twitches and I can only imagine the look my face makes holding in a curse word from pain. So the doc recommended a chiropractor who does prenatal care. The good news is, as my body is expanding and stretching it is very easy to pop things back into place. The downside? It is just as easy for them to pop back out again...Anyways, we are just busy here with life and the preparation for Nuggette's arrival. We've scheduled for a breastfeeding class and a birthing class. The latter of which I am sure will make me wonder why I ever wanted to be preggers in the first place...

Pregnancy is NOT easy!

So I knew pregnancy would be tough. I was actually drinking a throwback pepsi while peeing on a stick when we first found out I was pregnant (the drink didn't make it into the bathroom with me, but it was still waiting for me when I got out...) so that was hard to dump the rest of such a hard to find drink down the sink knowing I wouldn't have another one til May. I have coped well with the no caffeine and no alcohol, since I didn't drink much anyways. The hardest day to day thing has been the deli meats. I know thats such a low chance of an infection from bacteria and that I could heat my sandwich, but I don't really care for warm sandwiches. But tonight was the hardest of them all and I am surprised it hasn't happened to me earlier in the pregnancy. I decided to make brownies. While I was mixing the batter it dawned on me that I can't eat the batter. Have you EVER in your entire life baked brownies (or some other scrumptuous treat) and NOT licked the bowl/spoon/fingers???? Seriously, TRY IT! It is near impossible. At least 2/3 of the pan is gone...only 1/3 left to go. Dr. Langer told me to gain weight...doesn't eating a batch of brownies count? :)
